ForkCast Privacy Policy
How Astrynn handles information when you use ForkCast.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Astrynn (“Astrynn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use ForkCast to discover restaurants, create or join groups, build shortlists, vote, spin the decision wheel, save favorites, or view recent picks.
Information You Provide
We process choices and preferences you submit, such as distance, cuisine, price, rating, shortlist selections, group participation, votes, favorites, and saved results.
If you create or join a group, ForkCast may process a group code, display name or participant identifier, voting activity, and information needed to keep the group session synchronized.
We also process information you send to support, including your email address and the contents of your message.
Location Information
With your permission, ForkCast may use your device location to identify restaurants near you and calculate approximate distance. Depending on your settings and the feature used, this may include precise location while the app is in use.
You can deny or withdraw location permission in your device settings. Some discovery features may not work correctly without a location or manually selected search area.
Restaurant and Map Data
ForkCast receives restaurant details from third-party restaurant, place, map, and location providers. Requests may include a location, search radius, category filters, and other parameters needed to return results.
Restaurant information can change and may be incomplete or inaccurate. ForkCast does not control the privacy practices of third-party providers.
Automatically Collected Information
ForkCast may receive app version, device and operating-system information, language, general usage events, crash reports, performance data, and diagnostic logs used to operate, secure, and improve the app.
How We Use Information
- Provide nearby restaurant results and apply selected filters.
- Create and synchronize group sessions, shortlists, and votes.
- Display decision-wheel results, favorites, and recent picks.
- Improve app performance, reliability, usability, and safety.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Retention
Temporary group and search information may be retained only as long as needed to provide the relevant feature. Favorites, recent picks, preferences, diagnostics, and support records may be retained longer depending on how the feature works and why the information is needed.
We retain information as reasonably necessary to operate ForkCast, comply with law, resolve disputes, and protect the service.
Your Choices and Rights
You can manage location permission through your device settings and remove favorites or recent items through available app controls.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about processing. Contact privacy@astrynn.com to submit a request. We may need to verify your identity.
Children’s Privacy
ForkCast is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information in violation of this policy.
Security and International Processing
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information, but no security method is perfect. Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries with laws different from those where you live.
